A: With the PortNexus platform, it is not hard. You’ll need to be able to match software features with customer needs, but the PortNexus platform will solve all the technology integration, performance, and design issues for you. For wireless resellers, your business will change from memorizing promotions to learning consultative selling strategies. We think this is much more interesting.


Q: What is the learning curve, and how does PortNexus help?

A: PortNexus provides many educational and training opportunities; both to learn to use the platform, and to become proficient in solution sales of advanced mobile solutions. Our training partner, CDI, is available for onsite trainings, and is conducting a nationwide road show to help educate our dealers.

Q: Why does PortNexus require an NDA?

A: PortNexus immediately discloses proprietary and confidential information. In order to ensure security we ask for an NDA.


Q: Can I become a at&t dealer only under PortNexus, and not sell packages?

A: Yes you can. The process is the same as above, only we do not send you the contract in advance. Just contact us for details.


Q: How do I get my own engine?

A: When you become a PortNexus dealer you get your own engine. Use of the PortNexus platform requires certification.


Q: How do you keep a track of what I sell, and how do dealers get paid?

A: The PortNexus platform manages all licensing and commissions payments for its users. It keeps track of what packages are sold, to whom, and by whom automatically. All software commissions are handled this way. at&t wireless maintains a sophisticated system which manages all at&t subdealer commissions, and reporting.


Q: What support do dealers get?

A: You can always look up your own commissions. We have dedicated staff to help you sell more.

Q: What is an the innovation station?

A: Innovation Station is the core of PortNexus’ technology offering. This technology is offered at multiple levels of access, and configured to meet the specific business objectives of its user. With it, you are able to design, deploy, and manage complete mobile solutions over the PocketPC platform.


Q: What is a Package?

A: “Packages” are complimentary groupings of applications, integrated seamlessly, coordinated by the Liquid Menu interface. PortNexus builds packages by consulting with industry experts, designing complete mobile solutions for select vertical markets. To ameliorate large up front licensing fees for their many applications—a significant sales barrier—packages are offered at an affordable monthly rate.

Q: Why is your solution only for a Pocket PC?

A: A Pocket PC has nearly the same abilities a laptop did 3 years ago. It is the most capable, advanced platform on the market today, and we believe it will be the standard for advanced mobility going forward.


Q: Why do you work with only certain Pocket PCs?

A: We work with what we feel as best of breed vendors and hardware.


Q: What is one step registration?

A: We call it a SmartKey. Some of our packages have as many as twenty applications. Imagine having to use the little pen on the virtual keyboard to register each and every one of those applications. Many times the registration has a character like l and is that a One or a small l or a 0 ? if you guess wrong, your get to start over and keep hunting. This drove me crazy enough to create the solution for it. Now the only thing you have to do is set up the account and all of those keys get tied to it, so you do not have to put them in.

Q: What do end customers get?

A: Customers get a bundled “Package” of applications which should fit their minimum requirements for constant connectivity. This Package may include software, middleware, Bluetooth hardware accessories, network enhancement, and more, all seamlessly combined under a single user interface.


Q: How are end customers billed?

A: All PortNexus Packages are billed under a subscription licensing model. The customers will receive a monthly charge via credit card for Packages they have purchased. They will also be billed monthly by at&t for usage of wireless data and voice.


Q: What happens if end customers fail to pay?

A: Customers will receive a 30 day grace period for non-payment of Package fees. at&t Wireless maintains their own payment policy.


Q: What happens if end customers break, loose, or change their hardware?

A: Customers simply log into their PortNexus account form the internet browser on the device, and download the Package over the air. The PortNexus Platform will configure the hardware and software for optimal results, register and license all applications, provide self healing, automatic upgrades, and back up all applications in the event the device is broken, lost or upgraded. All application compatibility issues are solved.


Q: My customer has a custom app they want integrated, can you help?

A: Yes we can! PortNexus can help, and the PortNexus Platform can accommodate external applications. Call us for more information.


Q: What’s the difference between this and services like Handango?

Because we work with each application developer to make their product compatible with other applications, only the PortNexus solution allows safe download and operation of multiple applications on the same device. Some of our packages contain over 20 different applications, which can all be downloaded over the air in a single session.
